Over the years, cognitive and mental health impairment in patients suffering from the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is indicated as important clinical symptoms in the course of the disease. Cognitive impairment can precipitate in all forms and stages of MS presenting with a variation of symptoms and a range of severity that differs among the patients
Every beneficial therapeutic management with this target could lessen the disability caused by the disease and improve the quality of life of MS patients.
Eliama Daily Value Gold was the first Cretan high phenolic EVOO that participated to improve the probable benefits on cognition and mental health regarding MS. The participants had the diagnosis of PPMS and SPMS and they were not receiving specific MS medication because previous treatments had failed.
The results showed that in the intervention group there was a statistically significant improvement in the neuropsychological tools (FAB, the BVMT, and the SDMT). Those results show that EH EVOO has positive effects on executive functions, visual memory, and processing speed.
We would like to express our thankfulness to all scientists for choosing Eliama Gold for their Research study, and especially thanks to Prof Dr. Magda Tsolaki, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, and Prof Dr. Greta Wozniak, University of Cyprus.
We appreciate all patients participating in the Pilot study.
